Khargone : Under the ‘Haryali Mahautsav’, plenty of plants have been planted at Nimaad land, to make it a more green-region. But the forest department is not concerned about the after-care that is needed for the plants and trees to sustain. These plants are left in the name of monsoon. Once again, monsoon traces have invited more plantations by the forest department.

To get a place in the Guinness Book of world records, one crore eleven lakh plants are to be planted in the state. However, the department is unaware of the condition of the previous plantations. The district has been given with a goal of planting 2,67,000 plants to get into the Guinness book of world records. The forest department spends a huge amount of money, every year, for the plantations but they do not car e about the plants after that, due to which many plants die, even before growing fully.

“After the arrival of the monsoons, the date for plantation will be decided to make a record in the Guinness. Plenty of plants will be planted in various ranges. Only 84 percent of the plants from the previous year are still alive.” – JR Vaskale, Divisional Forest Officer
