Indore: The Madhya Pradesh Labour Department has issued orders regarding its 100- day plan to curb misbehavior with women.Labour Commissioner KC Gupta said that under the Madhya Pradesh Shop and Establishment Act 1958, only Information Technology companies, where women are allowed to work between 7 pm and 9 am, while other companies are not permitted to employ women in these mentioned hours.
According to the orders, the IT Cos are directed to provide safety arrangement and necessary facilities to women working in the night shift. They are also directed to provide favorable atmosphere for work, health, light and cleanliness.
Those IT companies which flout the norms and fail to provide stipulated facilities to women employees would face action. The orders also direct IT companies to provide vehicle for transportation to and from house, the strength of women employees should not be less than two- third of the total strength while the women employees are entitled to weekly holiday.
