Indore : Forest depart rescue team is yet to trace the leopard which was spotted in the Residency Area few days ago.

Though the officials have received calls of spotting the wild animal from different locations, the team did not find any trace of the leopard as yet.

When enquired about the issue, a senior forest official opined that the wild animal had come from the city zoo. But he did not support the theory of returning the animal back to the zoo.

Meanwhile, the zoo authorities reiterated the statement that the leopard did not escape from the zoo. “The forest department officials are trying to hide their failure and are blaming the zoo authorities, just because the animal was spotted near the zoo,” said incharge of the Kamla Nehru Prani Sanghrahalaya Dr Uttam Yadav Sharp brains A senior forest department official on Saturday said that the animal can identify routes to go and return up to a distance of around 20km.

Since the leopard belongs to the cat family, it is tough to judge whether it came from the zoo or elsewhere. However, the officer said that it is unbelievable that it came all the way from woods, (in case it happened) and harmed no one or no one noticed it moving.
