Fog engulfs city, people feel the pinch

Indore: Dense fog engulfed the city for the first time this winter season, on Monday. Due to intense fog, the city temperature also went southward and people, particularly, commuters felt the pinch.Officials of the Meteorological Department said that the arrival of winter was normal this year.

“ It’s completely normal arrival of winter this year and people will feel the chill in next couple of days,” Met officials said.On Monday, the city recorded maximum temperature of 23.2 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature dipped to 10 degree Celsius.

“ By Christmas and New ear eve, the minimum temperature will dip further and the fog layer would be intensified,” they added.According to the experts, the winter has arrived on time this year. It was late by a fortnight last year. In past two to three years, the city used to witness fog from the first week of January but this year it gripped the city early, which is believed a good sign.

Schools timing changed Due to cold- wave, the district administration has decided to change schools timing by an hour from Monday. Collector Aakash Tripathi issued an order for change in timings for classes from nursery to VIII. As per the new orders, no classes would be conducted before 9 am.The new orders will be effective from December 24 and remains till February 10.
