Indore : Pandharinath police on Wednesday arrested five persons and seized a copper-laden container worth Rs 54 lakh. They loaded the copper from the transport in Alwar and instead of going to Bangalore they were planning to sell the copper in the city.
According to TI Sanju Kamble, after receiving a tip-off, four persons named Kayyum, Liyakat, Mubarik and Shahabuddin of Mewat district of Haryana and Abid Sheikh of Sadar Bazaar have been arrested from Machhi Bazaar on Wednesday.
The truck loaded with copper was also seized from them. During the strict questioning, the accused told the police that they loaded the truck from a transport in Alwar and they were to go Bangalore. Later, the four planned to sell the copper in low price in the city instead of going to Bangalore. The police have informed the truck and goods owner about the incident. They will lodge a complaint with the Alwar police also.
