Groups come face- to- face over budget allotment

Indore: Members of Agrawal community exchanged blows on Monday over allotment of budget for a new office during a meeting at Hotel Apsara. However, the programme resumed later but the dispute left a rift in the community.

As per reports, a meeting of about 150 Agrawal community members took place in the city on Monday. As usual, the agenda was proposed and discussion began. A group was demanding allotment of Rs 25 lakh for a new office of the community.

However, the opposing group claimed that the office is used once in a while only for meetings. At the cost of Rs 1 lakh only, the present office could be refurbished and used without spending so much money.

Later, both the groups came face- to- face and the verbal exchange turned into physical attacks. In a while, the whole meeting venue looked like a boxing ring.

Chairman of the community Goyal was unhappy with the proceedings and he tried to leave the meeting several times. The matter was settled after a while and the members brought the chairman back into the meeting.
