Indore: The Devi Ahilybai Holkar International Airport administration will conduct rehearsal for launch of first international flight from here in first week of July.
Following the declaration of date of commencement of Air India’s Indore-Dubai flight on July 15, the airport administration is gearing up to make arrangements needed for operating overseas flights from city. Indore-Dubai flight is the first scheduled commercial flight to start regular operation from the city.
Aryama Sanyal, city airport director, briefed about the preparedness of airport administration. She said preparations are complete as different government agencies have granted permission to airport for Indore-Dubai flight.
The permission for setting up of customs counter at the airport has already been given by the union finance ministry. On June 26, the union government approved setting up of immigration counters at airport’s departure and arrival lounge.
Sanyal said a review meeting will be held shortly to discuss over all arrangements to be made here. This will be held in July first week to conduct rehearsal of all arrangements. The date of the rehearsal will be fixed soon. The first international flight will be launched in the presence of distinguished people.
Earlier, Haj flights operated from city airport. Similarly, non-scheduled or chartered international flights also took off from here earlier.
