Indore: Taking a lesson from Petlawad blasts, at least 30 cracker shops, currently located in dense residential areas of the city, would be shifted out of the city temporarily until new location is identified. The Collector will take a final decision on Friday.
Since long, over 18 crackers shops are located in Ranipura-Khatipura area and over 12 cracker shops are located in Indira Complex close to Navlakha Square. Rau is also emerging as a major cracker market and even manufacturing crackers.
During intense search action, the administration has informed that they would have to shift their business from the present locations, owing to dense residential area in nearby areas.
The administrative sources said that the representatives of crackers traders are meeting with top officials of the administration frequently after the search action. The administration has suggested them three locations to shift their business till Diwali. They are opposite to Regional Park, Scheme No 78 and green belt land at Khandwa Road.
However, collector P. Narahari called a meeting with the traders on Friday to finalise the location. Though the new location will be till Deepawali, after the festival of lights, traders will have to make their own arrangements.
