Indore : Strong winds followed by moderate showers hit the city on Wednesday evening affecting routine life. Due to heavy winds, the citizens had to face frequent power cuts and almost every area of the city turned dark in the evening.

The shower coupled with winds brought relief to the citizens from humid condition as it pulled down the day temperature by 5 degrees Celsius.

According to meteorological department, the winds blew with the highest speed of 66 km/hr. The maximum temperature was recorded at 29.8 degree Celsius which was five degrees below normal temperature.

However, only 2.1 mm rain was recorded till Wednesday night and the total record of rain reached to 230 mm i.e. 9.05 inches. Hot and humid conditions were witnessed during the day and the sky turned dark in the evening making the atmosphere cool and it also gave relief to the people from humidity.

Officials of the met department said that the weather condition would remain same on Sunday as well. More than half of the city plunged into darkness. Residents of various areas like Vijay Nagar, LIG, Bada Ganpati, Chhatripura, Aerodrome and others bore the brunt of black- out. They also complained that the officials of the Discom didn’t even receive their complaints.
