Indore: The Crime Branch claimed to have busted an inter- state fake mark sheet making gang, which was involved in making fake school and college mark sheets since many years, with the arrest of two of its members. Recently, the crime branch received information that some people in the city are engaged in making fake mark sheets of schools and colleges.
DIG Rakesh Gupta and SP ( HQ) Anil Sharma constituted a police team, under the leadership of ASP Devendra Patidar and Dilip Soni to investigate the information.The team kept watch on the activities of the suspects and on Wednesday raided flat number 201 of Suryansh Exotic at Alok Nagar and found the two people involved in making fake mark sheets.
The arrested have been identified as Aftab alias Appu Husain ( 32), a resident of Haji Colony ( Khajrana) and Mohammad Atahar alias Farhaj Khan ( 40), a resident of Alok Nagar.
Police also seized a bundle of fake mark sheets, a laptop, a printer, a scanner and some rubber stamps from the flat. The seized fake mark sheets were of MP State Open School, MP HS Board- Bhopal, Jiwaji University- Gwalior, Bundelkhand University- Jhansi, Delhi HS Board and RGPV ( Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya). It indicates that the gang even provided professional fake mark sheets and certificates including engineering courses.Police also seized account documents of the business.
During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested have revealed that they have network in UP, Bihar, Gujrat and other neighbouring states. A team of crime branch and Kanadiya police has been formed to collect details of their aides and network in other cities and nab other gang members.The team which busted the racket will be rewarded, sources said.
Aftab is the kingpin According to ASP Devendra Patidar, as per information obtained till now, Aftab is the kingpin of the gang. The second accused Mohammad Atahar hails from Hyderabad. Five months ago, he came to city from Dubai, after coming in contact with Aftab. He was living here at the rented flat in Alok Nagar. They charge Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 from a customer, depending upon the value of mark sheet and the need of the customer.
