EPFO serves notice to MPCA

Indore: Before the ODI Ind. Vs S. Africa being played here, the host of the match MPCA has received a bouncer ball from EPFO on Tuesday. EPFO has served a notice to MPCA to furnish information on PF to staff and contractual labors by October 10.

After finding certain irregularities in the in maintain the PF records of the employees and contractual labors, the EPFO has serves a notice to the secretary of the MPCA here on Tuesday. EPFO has asked to MPCA to furnish the certain information and documents. According to official sources, the MPCA has been asked to give details of employees, labors deployed directly by establishments, appointment letters, attendance records, salary and wages registers, payment vouchers, books of accounts, form no. 11 (EPF), details of EPF remittances if made in respect of such employees. EPFO’s Regional Office has also sought the details of employees, labors, deployed through contractors by the MPCA, complete details of contractors, sub contractors, petty contractors, and details of work order/job orders issued to such contractors.

Notice states that if MPCA fails to produce the aforesaid documents, information, and then the legal action as provided for under the section 14/14A of the Act read with para 76 of the EPF Scheme 1957 would be taken.

It may be recalled that the EPFO was keeping a close watch over the preparation of the match. It was learnt that the MPCA has outsources most of the work to contractors. Subsequently, few officers of the EPFO had rushed to MPCA office on Monday evening and sought certain information.
