Indore : Lured by end-of-season discount sales, city shoppers are once again thronging malls and high streets to meliorate their wardrobes. But, long queues at cash counters and trial rooms are making their shopping experience a nightmare.
Purva Sethi, an employee, who was busy in picking up the best among the sale, said, “The excitement of end of the season sale vanishes once we get into the mall and experience such poor customer service in the malls.”
Indore being a budding cosmopolitan city may get have got the lustre of high end brands but the customer service is still very poor. As, there is a long list of buyers who come with happy faces to these malls to spend their money but goes off pulling a long face.
“Discounts are always tempting and it is impossible being a girl to resist them but waiting for hours to pay the bill in these retail store seriously has become a turn off factor for obsessive shoppers like me, which comes as black mark on the customer service given in these branded retail outlets,” said Surbhi Soni, an IIM Indore student, who came for shopping, on a Sunday afternoon.
One of the managing staff of these retail stores told Free Press that Sale being a unfailing intriguing factor for the buyers it often is witnessed that customer services are catered insufficiently just because there is no big pressure here in Indore, a Tier-2 city.
Apart from the scanty billing counters, there are a slew of customers who are cribbing about the discount gimmick offered during these End of the season sales. As, one can comfortably observe big hoarding around the city claiming SALE SALE 50% with a timid star * elaborating it as ‘up to’, which is visually fooling the buyers.
“I have been roaming mall to mall from morning to evening but I haven’t found 50% discount item in the city which is supposedly claimed by every retail store during this time of the year,” said Tanuja Kulkarni, an employee of real-estate company, who we saw shopping in one of the malls of the city.
But, no body denies the fact that these sales bring in a whopping business in the retail industry and the city too is in full fervour of this SALE season.
