Indore: The Election Commission issued a notice to Health Minister Narottam Mishra on Tuesday regarding paid news in the Assembly polls of 2008 in Damoh constituency.

As per reports, the EC directed Mishra to appear before it within two days. It is noteworthy that Mishra defeated Rajendra Bharti of the Congress in 2008 from Damoh constituency. Later, Bharti lodged a complaint with the EC stating that the poll results were influenced due to Mishra’s role in the paid news. The EC had issued a notice to Mishra but he got a stay from the court.

Recently, the court lifted its stay and immediately after it, the EC issued a notice to Mishra to appear before it in a period of two days. It is noteworthy that Mishra is due to contest elections for the Assembly polls.
