Indore : In a setback to the government school women teachers, who moved court against the state government’s “e-attendance” initiative, Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Friday rejected their plea of listing of the matter to a bench comprising a lady judge.

Double bench of Justices PK Jaiswal and DK Paliwal turned down the application.

Fearing that they would be at the receiving end of the “e-attendance” initiative taken by the State government, nearly 270 female teachers of government schools had submitted an application in the HC stating that sharing their mobile phone numbers won’t be safer for them and requested an alternate method to monitor their attendance. They had also requested to list this matter before a benching comprising of a lady judge.
