Indore: In a shocking development, MBA (hospital administration) IV semester students of Institute of Management Studies (IMS) on Tuesday lodged a complaint with their Director PN Mishra against two faculty members alleging that the duo had threatened to fail them in the viva if they did not turn meet them in person after the test.

Why the teachers wanted them to meet in person after the viva was not immediately known but the bizarre demand has forced the institute authorities to investigate the matter. According to information, the institute director has ordered for constitution of a committee that would probe the charges.

The students in a written complaint stated that they had gone to different companies as part of their major research project (MRP).  When they returned and appeared in the viva at the institute, Dr AK Jain and Dr Pankaj Chauhan allegedly grilled them for not taking guidance from them.

The students in the complaint claimed that the furious duo even asked them to come to meet them in person and said if they did not meet them after the viva they would be failed in the test. They also stated that the faculty members sought to know confidential data of the companies they had worked in during their MRP. Terming the demands as “their humiliation”, the students sought the director’s intervention into the matter.

Elections of Self-Finance Employee (non-teaching) Association would be held on May 23, the day general body meeting of the association would be held. According to information, the executive council of the association met recently and decided to hold general body meeting on May 23. It was also decided that election would also be held on the same day. “The last date for filing nominations papers is May 16 and withdrawing the same is May 17,” sitting secretary Deepak Solanki said.
