Indore : Two youths, who lodged a complaint on the basis of a cooked up story at Lasudia police station on Monday that they were looted Rs 3.70 lakh by some bike-borne miscreants when they were on their way to deposit the money in a bank, were arrested within 25 minutes of filing the complaint.

The police have registered a case and launched further investigations. The accused duo would be charged under relevant Sections of the IPC.

Lasudia TI Narendra Geharwar said that the accused were identified as Ravi and Manish, who work in Laxmi petrol pump.

He said that Ravi worked at the fuel station for last 14 years and was a faithful employee of owner Rudhir Pahwa.

But for the last six months, the accused had been allegedly embezzling accounts, which weren’t noticed by the pump owner.

On Monday, the pump owner asked the accounts department to tally all the accounts.

After this, Ravi cooked up the story to escape from being caught.

As per plan, Ravi along with Manish packed up some clothes and other wastes in a plastic bag and approached Rudhir saying that they have collected money from some parties collections and were leaving for bank to deposit the same. On this, Rudhir gave them challan form book without looking into the bag.

The TI said that the duo had allegedly thrown the bag in a nearby waste-bin and lodged a complaint at Lasudia police that some masked bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted them at gun-point while they were on their way to the bank to deposit the money.

The police have registered a case on their complaint and found Ravi behaving suspiciously. Later, when the police strictly enquired the sequence of the incident from Ravi, he confessed making up the story and said that he had hid the challan book to cover up the crime.
