Indore: The recently- constituted Devi Ahilya University Alumni Association committee has decided to hold its maiden get- together of alumni of the university teaching departments on January 24. After taking consent of Vice Chancellor DP Singh, the committee approved the date in its meeting held on Monday and also constituted a panel to design the format of the get- together to be organised at the university auditorium located on the UTD campus.
DUAA committee chairman AV Bajaj said that the committee also decided to start registration for the association from this week.“ The registration fee has been fixed at Rs 1000 per candidate. The fee has to be paid in cash.” Till date, the association has been registering alumni online for free but now it started charging. Bajaj explained: “ That registration is not approved. For approval, the candidate needs to pay registration fee. As of now, we do not have online payment mode so the candidates would have to come to the university to deposit fee.” The fee could be deposited at School of Computer Science building.
For those who stay outside the city and can’t turn up at the said department for paying the fee, the mode of payment would be decided soon, DUAA secretary Devendra Puntambekar said adding that the committee is also sending emails to the candidates, who had registered online, to pay the fee on or before January 24.
Only those candidates who pay registration fee will be able to participate in the alumni meet. The candidates can register themselves before the gettogether also.The next meeting of DUAA would be held on December 12.
Established in 1964, the university took 49 years to constitute its alumni body.
EC meeting on Dec 18
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya ( DAVV) has convened executive council meeting on December 18.Since modal code of conduct came into effect on October 4, the university could not hold executive council meet for last two months. The code of conduct would be lifted with the formation of new government is formed after poll results on December 8.
