Indore : A 53-year-old doctor lost his leg as a speeding tanker went over him near Panchwati colony in Lasudia police station area on Friday.

Spectators said that after the hit, the injured was dragged to some distance by the tanker. Police have registered a case against the absconding tanker driver and seized the tanker from the spot.

According to Lasudia police, the injured is identified as Jagdish Saini, who works as doctor at a trust hospital.

He was returning home after completing his duty when the tragic mishap took place.

It was said that after the hit from rear side, the doctor was dragged to few feet before his leg got separated from his body.

Police have seized the tanker and launched an investigation into the matter. Police are also searching for the absconding driver of the tanker.

As per a friend of victim’s wife Dipti, the doctor was rushed to a hospital from the scene. She too reached the hospital on receiving the information. Meanwhile, other family members also reached there. He was also shifted to other private hospital afterwards.
