Indore : Members of employees unions on Wednesday held demonstration at the MGM Medical College protesting the doctor-clerk spat and sought action against the medical practitioners for highhandedness.
But the dispute – that threatened proper college functioning – ended by evening when the doctors and the clerk reached a compromise.
To avoid such incidents, college administration has directed the doctors and other staff for contacting the HoDs of concerned departments, in case of grievance, instead of talking to the staff directly.
“We have called Dr Somendra Bhattacharya, Dr Kaushal and the clerk aof account section Anees Pathrod for questioning. Both the parties have expressed regret over the matter and assured not to repeat it again,” MGM Medical College acting Dean Dr Sanjay Dixit said.
He said that they have also directed the staff and doctors for contacting the HoDs in case of any grievance for avoid such disputes.
Clerk Anees Pathrod said that the incident took place only due to misunderstanding and it has been cleared now.
According to sources, spokesperson of the college Dr Rahul Rokade and president of SC/ST wing Karan Bhagat intervened to solve the matter. Earlier in the morning, large number of members of various employees unions staged demonstration against the doctors in the college premises before the compromise.
