Indore : Dial 1912 Service, launched on October 31 midnight is getting good response from residents of Pashchim Kshetra Power Distribution Company (Discom).
The service is quite useful because Discom people are attending now night complaints on the same night itself. Till now, they were attending such complaints next morning.
The Discom rolled out Dial 1912, a 24X7 central call centre service on the occasion of ‘Foundation Day’ of the state on October 31.
Talking to Free Press, Shailendra Gujarati, Superintending Engineer of the Discom (Indore City) said in the first phase the service is being rolled out in Indore city area and 5.60 lakh customers will be able to get the facility. Later, the service would be implemented in the entire area of the Discom including 15 districts of the Indore and Ujjain Divisions.
Talking about the functioning of the service, Gujarati said after dialing 1912, the chargeable call would be attended at the centre, which would ask the IVRS no. of the customer (mentioned on the bill) and also the landmark of location. Employees of the call centre forward the complaints on the mobile phone of line man of the area, who attend the complaints within 3 hours. Gujarati said: ‘We have given SIMs to linemen and mapped the area. After resolving the complaint, the linemen will reply to the call centre, which will update the status of complaint.
He said that the service was rolled out after a trial of 1 month. Sharing the responses of the service, Gujarati said that before midnight of October 31, there were 599 complaints, out of which 595 were resolved within 3 hours.
