Indore : DIG Rakesh Gupta has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 to those persons who can facilitate the arrests of four absconding accused in a fraud case.
It may be recalled that on December 14, 2012 the accused, identified as Aakash Verma, Vijay Kumar, Raj Verma and Sighania, called up Aruna Das (72), a resident of Ratlam on her mobile phone and told her that she had won a lottery of Rs 25 lakh.
After wining her confidence, the accused asked her to deposit Rs 25000 each on December 18, 2012 into the accounts of MD Pervez and Raju Yadav, Rs 40000 each on December 25, 2012 into the accounts of Revati Kumar and Jitendra Pandey and Rs 15250 on December 25, 2012 into the account of Ameish.
After receiving the money the accused refused to take calls from Aruna and finally she lodged a police complaint. The police investigation led them to Jitendra Pandey (37), a resident of Siwan; Revati Kumar, a resident of Patna and Rajkumar, a resident of Gopalganj in the state of Bihar and Amrish Mishra, a resident of Devariya (UP).
However, the accused were not found at their addresses and are still reported absconding. In view of these facts, DIG Rakesh Gupta has announced a reward of Rs 2500 each for the arrest of accused.
