Khategaon (Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh): Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel started the much-awaited registration for purchase of moong, urad pulses in Bhopal on Tuesday and also held discussions with five farmers of five districts through video call.
Among five farmers, Narmada Prasad Budana, a farmer of Khategaon tehsil, was also included. Budana interacted with chief minister from collectorate. Collector Chandramouli Shukla, District Panchayat member Balram Dawatha along with officers of Agriculture Department were present.
Budana told Chief Minister that he has been cultivating moong for last 3 years and the production of moong this year has been good. Moong gets ready for harvest in 60 days and if they get a good price, then good profit is earned in short time. When Chief Minister inquired about irrigation facilities, Narmada Prasad said tubewell has been installed on his farm under government scheme.

When asked about benefits of government schemes, Narmada Prasad said government provided moong seeds. The amount of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi and Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi is also reaching his account.
Besides 10% rebate is available on timely repayment of loans from co-operative banks. Budana said farmers’ financial condition will improve as the moong is being purchased by the government on support price. He thanked the chief minister for it.
During the discussion, Chouhan said, “Your Khategaon MLA Ashish Sharma was also worried about purchase of moong and used to interact repeatedly in this context.”
