Dewas : The delay in monsoon this year has now bothering the farmers to a great extent. The farms have all dried up. Farmers all over the district have readied their farms for the Kharif crops since last one month. Even in the midst of shortage of the seeds, the farmers somehow managed, but now the monsoon wait seems to be unending. In the Dewas district, many farmers have created a little pond in their farmers under the water farming campaign that occurred a decade ago. Many states have applied this method of farming. Rabi crops were benefitted the most from this scheme. This method is not only for irrigation but it has also given a life to all the wells, Bavdi and borings. Due to the extreme summer this year, the ponds dried up in January and the water level fell shockingly. Even drinking water is unavailable at many places.

Looking at the monsoon condition of this year, the agricultural department has advised the farmers to sow soyabean.
