Indore : One of the most honest officers of his time GD Shelke passed away while praying for Mother India during the historic R-Day celebration on Monday.
GD Shelke (72) retired in 2004 from the post of Food Controller. He was invited as a guest of honour for Flag hoisting on the occasion of Republic Day, at his locality in Sudama Nagar’s D-Sector on Monday. After the felicitation, Shelke was addressing the gathering and fell down while he was praying for Mother India.
He was immediately, rushed to Unique hospital at Annapurna Road, where doctors declared him brought dead.
That time his son Virendra Shelke, reader to ADM, was busy at RAPTC (Rustam Ji Armed Police Training College), where the main event of the R-Day was being organized. Many societies and prominent people of the society paid tribute to Shelke.
