Indore : University officials are planning to send notices to Indore Institute of Management and Research (IIMR) for failing to send a report on theft of an answer sheet allegedly by a student, five days ago. Meanwhile, the accused student appeared before university officials and stated that the college had falsely implicated her in the theft.
IIMR located in IIST premises was designated examination centre for BCom. On July 3, after the scheduled examination was over, the college management filed a complaint with Rau Police against Shradha Jaiswal for running away with the answer sheet.
However, Jaiswal denied the theft allegation and made an application to the university to inquire into the matter. Accompanied by Javed Khan, NSUI City Vice President, she appeared before acting Vice Chancellor Dr Anil Kumar Garg and officials of examination department.
Jaiswal stated that she had submitted her answer sheet as everybody else, after the examination. However, an hour-and-half later she received a call from IIMR that she should submit the answer sheet she had run away with.
Jaiswal then contacted her college, IIL, and reached IIMR accompanied by her college professors. After discussions between professors of the two colleges, Jaiswal returned home and some later the college management filed a complaint with the police.
Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Garg expressed his displeasure at college management for not reporting the lost answer sheet matter to university incident and directed the officials to issue show-cause notice to the college.
NISU leader Khan said that college has CCTV cameras installed and footage can been seen if Jaiswal had indeed run away with the copy. He too alleged that the college is trying to victimise Jaiswal for something she has not done.
Meanwhile, Deputy Registrar Ajay Verma said that Jaiswal had made her submission before university officials and now details are being sought from the college.
