Indore : While the date of this year’s convocation ceremony is yet to be finalised, the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) on Monday said that the ceremony to be conducted next year would be the biggest one.
“The convocation ceremony-2016 will be the biggest one as we will club ceremonies of three academic sessions next year to bring the annual event at par with the running session,” said acting vice chancellor Prof Ashutosh Mishra.
It is to be noted that the convocation of the DAVV is running three academic years behind the schedule. This year, the convocation would be held for 2012-13 batch. The gap occurred as convocation ceremony, which was re-started after several years in 2006, was discontinued for the following three years. The ceremonies started on annual basis only after 2009.
Meanwhile, Mishra said that he would soon finalise the date for this year convocation after consultation with the Raj Bhawan.
The convocation ceremony was scheduled on September 28 but the same was called off two days ahead of the event following Raj Bhawan’s directives.
The Raj Bhawan had directed to suspend the convocation ceremony after he was informed by the district administration that there is a local holiday in the city on September 28.
