Indore : Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) Vice-Chancellor Prof DP Singh has signalled at setting up Department of Hindi on the UTD campus. “If funds are provided by the UGC for constructing building and subsequently faculty is sanctioned, the DAVV will definitely setup Department of Hindi,” Singh told Free Press commenting on the guidelines approved by the UGC for Hindi Department. In its recent meeting, the UGC approved guidelines framed by a committee of subject experts for establishment of Hindi Department at Central, State and Deemed Universities. As per information, the UGC would provide funds in four instalments to the universities for setting up the department. At present, DAVV offers Hindi courses through School of Languages.
