Curfew relaxed for 12 hrs

Indore: With no fresh report of any untoward incident in Chandan Nagar, the district administration on Sunday relaxed the curfew for 12 hours ( 9 am to 9 pm) while a peace march was taken out appealing people to remain calm. During the relaxed hours, local residents thronged the markets to buy necessary things and the most roads in the area too witnessed rush.

Fortunately, no untoward incidents were reported from any part of the area during this period. The administration had imposed curfew in the area on Tuesday following bloody clash between two communities. The administration had also relaxed curfew for 4 to 7 hours initially for three days. On Sunday, women folk came out in large number to buy essentials goods for their families while men were seen engaged in their regular activities.

SP ( West) Anil Singh Kushwah said that the condition was returning to normal and said that the curfew would be relaxed for 16 hours, on Monday Residents of Chandan Nagar took out a peace march on Sunday appealing people to maintain peace in the area. They took out the march with lighting candles, banners and posters.

The hour- long march was finally culminated at Chandan Nagar Square. Collector Aakash Tripathi, DIG Rakesh Gupta, SP Anil Singh Kushwah and other officers were also present in the march. . Peace march taken out in Chandan Nagar

Indore “ The glorious tradition of peace and communal harmony of Indore will be maintained at all cost and strict action will be taken against the disruptive elements. The responsibility of maintaining peace depend on all of us, including administration, leaders and general public.” These Statements were made at the peace committee meeting, held in the conference hall of Collectorate.

The meeting was presided over by Collector Aakash Tripathi. The collector and the peace committee members appeal peopel to maintain peace and harmony during coming festivals.

Two MLAs– Ramesh Mendola and Ashwin Joshi, Vice President of Mineral Development Corporation Govind Malu, DIG Rakesh Gupta, SP OP Tripathi, Shehar Quazi Isharat Ali, ADM AK Singh, IMC Commissioner Rakesh Singh, several other leaders and members of the Peace Committee participated in the meeting. DIG Gupta assured of enough security arrangements. Many valuable suggestions were also presented.
