Indore: The CPI-M workers staged a demonstration at the Collectorate in respect of various problems in rural areas of the district. A memo was handed over to the Collector. Later various leaders addressed the gathering and raised various issues. Chief among the demands was compensation of Rs 10,000 to the farmers and labourers working in the fields in the event of tragedy to next of the kin.

They also demanded settlement of families displaced from their homes for construction of roads and other projects. A demand was also raised to provide basic amenities.
