Mhow : Once again the water crisis and spreading filth in the city have become issues for discussions during the general meeting of Mhow Cantonment Board here on Wednesday. On both issues, the corporators and MCB CEO indulged in disputes.MCB vice president Suresh Thakur informed during the MCB meeting that due to disturbed water supply system in the town, the lower area localities are facing the water supply problem. Thakur said that the MCB was not ready to take over the charges of tube-well borings, done under MLA funds. Thakur added that MCB does not want pay the electricity bills of community borings. While the MCB has been spending lakhs of rupees on water-tanker transportations.

During the meeting, the corporators expressed their annoyance over the spreading garbage in the town. The corporators said that the MCB has been spending lakhs of rupees on city’s sanitary system, but no cleanliness drives are being conducted in the town. The corporators said that majority of MCB officials try to ignore the city residents’ problems.
