Indore : Following intervention of senior police officials, the Palasia police registered a case against unidentified youth for issuing acid attack threat to a business woman. The police had earlier desisted from acting on her complaint.
On May 16, a 32-year-old resident of Palasia, approached the police with a complaint claiming that she was threatened to withdraw case against a molestor.
She said that while she was returning home after buying fruits, an unidentified male approached her and asked her to withdraw the complaint of molestation against one Varun, lodged with the MIG police. He even asked her to strike a compromise in the case or else he’ll throw acid on her.
The victim was sent home by the Palasia police after taking an application from her. No further action was taken. But as the senior officials got the information about the case, instructions were issued to register a case in the matter against unidentified man under Section 506 of the IPC.
SP East OP Tripathi said that the Palasia police station TI claimed that the womn had expresed inability to immediately make herself available for recording statements, thus the registration of case against the accused got delayed.
