Indore : A constable has been suspended for letting a two-wheeler rider off the hook during the check in exchange for money. The action came after a video clipping of the constable’s act was provided to the police. The matter will be investigated by a CSP-level officer, who will submit his report to the SP City.
According to SP (West) OP Tripathi, a man had submitted a video clipping on Saturday which showed the constable taking money from the two-wheeler rider. It was alleged that the constable had let off the two-wheeler rider in exchange for the money.
The man who submitted the clipping claimed that it was dated June 12 and the incident occurred at a police check point at Janzeerawala Square.
According to the SP, the face in the clipping belongs to constable Bane Singh, who is currently attached to Tukoganj police station. However, Bane Singh was not on duty at the check point on June 12.
The SP added since prima facie it appears that Bane Singh was involved in accepting graft, but though the date is not certain, he has been suspended pending investigation by a CSP Prabha Chouhan of Kotwali police.
The report is expected to be submitted within next three days and based on the recommendations of the report, final action would be taken against Bane Singh.
