Indore: Noted RTI activist Dr Anand Rai has sent written complaints to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, DG of Police, STF and other higher authorities stating large- scale irregularities made by private medical and dental colleges in filling up 42 percent seats, which must be filled through the PMT quota.

He lodged a complaint against Index Medical College and alleged that the college authority didn’t follow the order of Supreme Court and filled seats by unfair means.

In his complaint, Dr Rai stated that as per the orders of the Apex Court, all private medical and dental colleges of the State should fill their 42 percent MBBS seats through the PMT quota but none of them have followed the orders for the last few years.

He also mentioned that Index Medical College gave admission to only three students through PMT but it had to fill 63 seats out of 150 as per the rule. “ The medical college didn’t follow the rules and directives of the SC and the state quota system in last few years,” Dr Rai said. He also attached list of students admitted to the college in 2013.

The complainant also mentioned the names of former Directors of Medical Education alleging that he was hand in gloves with the private medical colleges and also played a role in the PMT scam.

“ I requested the Chief Secretary and other senior authorities to launch a probe over admissions in the college in last 5- 7 years and also lodge an FIR against the college and former officers of the Medical Education Department,” he added.

On the other hand, Director of Index Medical College Suresh Bhadoriya rubbished the allegations and said that they had followed norms during the admission process.
