Indore : Come academic session, students of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) teaching departments will not have to queue up outside bank branches for paying their course fee.
Rather they can submit their fees while being at home. How come?
The university has announced plans to make fee payment option online thus brining to an end decades’ old practice of paying fee through banks.
“From session 2016-17 onwards, students of UTD campus will be able to pay fees online using debit, credit cards from anywhere,” said Yogendra Bawal, a DAVV coordinator for MPOnline portal which offers online services on behalf of the university.
“Currently, this facility is available at three teaching departments/institutes including School of Computer Science, International Institute of Professional Studies and Institute of Management Studies. We will make the facility available in other departments too from session 2016-17,” said Bawal.
The decision to make fee payment option online was taken by acting vice chancellor Ashutosh Mishra accepting a long pending demand of students for the same.
This facility will not only help students but also the university as well in gathering the exact data on number of students studying in the university teaching departments.
It’s an annual practice of collecting the information regarding number of students and subsequently sending the same to the Department of Higher Education for various purposes.
“When the students pay fee online, data of the number of students will be generated automatically,” Bawal said.
