Indore : The week-long Round Square Conference concluded in Daly College (DC) on Saturday. Foregin students, delegates and Round Square Conference participants attended the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony started in the Dhirubhai Ambani Auditorium at 11.30 am. The DC students presented colours of Rajasthan in a traditional folk dance performance.
Senior students of the school presented a colourful performance using rainbow coloured drapes. The performance was dedicated to the theme of the conference, ‘Somewhere over the rainbow, dreaming of a wonderful world’.
The most scintillating performance of the day was Punjabi dance that was presented by the students from abroad. The students learnt the dance in the workshop during the conference.
Entrepreneur Joanne McLean addressed the gathering. In her speech, she urged the students to derive maximum benefit from international conferences. “I love the amazing India, its amazing culture and amazing schools,” she said. She acknowledged the efforts of Young Round Square conference.
Deputy Chairman of Round Square Guy McLean was satisfied with the conference and asked the delegates to follow ‘Think globally and act locally’ concept.
Students prepared the conference statement, explanation of keywords and assembly of logo.
During the closing ceremony, Daly College Principal Dr Sumer Singh felicitated five security staff of the school for catching sandal wood thieves from the campus. The thieves entered the campus on Friday midnight and were caught red-handed by the security staff.
Addressing the gathering, Singh congratulated all the delegates for making the conference a great success.
After the closing ceremony, the paintings and sculptures made by the delegates were displayed at the CTDC.
