Indore : The Department of Higher Education on Monday directed government college principals to maintain logbook of biometric attendance machines to check malpractice. During video-conferencing, on Monday, the DHE officials asked additional directors to ensure that every government college install biometric machines for attendance of teachers and keep a logbook of the machine.

“The logbook should have information from switching on and off of the machine so that malpractice could be checked,” the DHE senior officers told the colleges. The DHE officers sought to know names of the colleges which had not installed the biometric machines so far. Indore divisional additional director (higher education) informed his higher-ups that 11 government colleges had installed biometric machines and orders of others are pending.

The DHE was informed that the company that had been given contractor of supply biometric machines to the colleges is not making the delivery. To this, the colleges were suggested to purchase machines from some other supplier. These machines would be connected online so that day to day attendance could be monitored with from Bhopal as well.
