Indore : With northerly cold winds sweeping across the state, citizens experienced the coldest night in last two years on Sunday. The maximum temperature plummeted by 6 degree Celsius from the normal whereas the minimum temperature plummeted by 3 degree centigrade from the normal and was recorded at 7 degrees.

Plummeting mercury coupled with biting cold-wave threw normal life out of gear in the city, on Monday. The city has been experiencing intense cold- wave since Sunday morning.

According to Met officials, the maximum temperature was recorded at 20.5 degree Celsius on Monday morning while the minimum temperature was 7 degree Celsius on Sunday night.

The sudden change in weather also affected health of people as the city hospitals recorded rise in patients with common cold, fever and other cold symptoms. The weather experts said that the mercury would plummet further in next coming days.
