Indore: The claims of MPEB that Indore is no power cut zone under the CM’s Atal Jyoti Project has been fell flat as the picture is quite different. Many parts of the city are facing power cuts for 8 hours and even more from Monday. The power cuts are being effected in the name of pre-monsoon maintenance that would continue till May 24.

As per information, Indore has been declared as “no power cut zone” under the Atal Jyoti project but in reality the power distribution company is keen to maintain darkness in many parts of the city. Sources said that the power cuts are even carried out in the night time leaving the people to suffer in the hot summer nights.

The department has issued a schedule for power cuts in identified areas but is taking the power as per their dilly-dallying due to which the residents are facing trouble on the first day of the power cut.“We had to wait for hours for the electricity to continue our domestic work. This created problem in our day to day business” said Prakash Jaat of Musakhedi “The undeclared power cuts by the departments is not fair and a proper schedule should be followed” said Rahul of Ajay Baug.
