INDORE : A cardiologist has to be updated with new techniques and medicines to provide continuous benefit to their patients, for which it is essential for them to acquire contemporary knowledge on it by continuous studies.
This was stated by renowned cardiologist Padmashri Dr Samuel Mathew during an event here. Dr Mathew had come to Indore to attend two-day workshop held in CHL hospital.
During the workshop, he also executed approx seven challenging heart operations August 1 and 2. Dr Mathew is recognized as “Father of Angioplasty” in the country as he has executed India’s first angioplasty. He had also done angioplasties of many famous personalities of India.
Dr Nitin Modi, consultant and interventional cardiologist of CHL hospital, said: “Under the guidance of Dr Mathew seven challenging operations were done by cardiologists of Indore, for which patients were suggested to move out of the city for operation.
A round table meeting was also organized in CHL hospital to convey the knowledge and expertise of Dr Mathew to the cardiologists of the city.
