Indore : The All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) continues to surprise MBA aspirants with changes in the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), a gateway to 400 odd b-schools in the country.

Having already announced that CMAT would be held once a year from 2016 onwards instead of twice a year and effecting a sea of changes in the registration process, AICTE has added another feature stating that a grace period of three days will be awarded to candidates, if making cash payment, to finalise the CMAT-2016 registration.

That means that if the candidates will make cash payment they will be able to register for CMAT-2016 till December 13 instead of the December 10, which is the last date for registration with online payment.

Registration window for CMAT to be held on January 17, 2016 was opened on November 3 and will shut on December 10.

The entire registration process is online. However, candidates are allowed to make cash payment in the bank account at any of the SBI bank branches. Test fee includes the registration and application fee for CMAT.

For General/OBC category candidates the registration and test fee is Rs 1400 and for SC/ST/PD candidates it is Rs 700. This fee is excluding of bank charges, which comes to Rs 40 on the registration fee of Rs 1400 and is to be paid while paying the fee challan in cash.

Candidates can pay the fee online through net banking/credit/debit card or can pay cash through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of SBI.

Process of cash payment

If you select the option to pay by cash, you will see a challan on your screen with your details that you entered in the CMAT-2016 registration form, already filled in it. You need to take 3 print outs of this challan, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk in to your nearest SBI bank branch with cash on the next day of generation of the challan. Cash deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your challan generation.
