Indore : The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released the notification for common management admission test (CMAT) 2016. The exam will be held on January 17, 2016 across the country. Registration window will open on November 3 and will close on December 10.

Unlike previous years, the exam from now onwards will be held once in a year. Previously, the exam used to be conducted twice a year, in the months of September and February.

This year, the AICTE had cancelled exam proposed in September and announced it would organize CMAT only once a year from 2016 onwards.

The CMAT is a gateway for admissions into the MBA programmes offered by about 400 B-schools in 13 states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana.

In addition, many B-schools offering PGDM programmes will also be using the CMAT-2016 scores.

No official announcement regarding change in pattern of the exam has been made so far.

That means that CMAT 2016 will remain an online exam for admission to MBA/ PGDM courses for 2016-18 batch across the country. It will be a single day exam instead of earlier multiple days.

The test, every year consists of four sections, namely, Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. Each section contains 25 questions and is held for a duration of three hours.

There will be four marks for every correct answer and no negative marks for a wrong answer. The candidates will have to wait for the detailed advertisement.
