Rain drizzles to provide short-lived relief to city
Indore : Sudden change in weather from suffocating heat to cloudy sky with drizzles at many places across the city gave much needed relief to the citizens on Sunday evening.
Though the day started like a usual summer day with clear sky and scorching heat, by the time evening fell, the temperature returned to normal, as dark clouds covered the sky, coupled with winds blowing at a speed of 25 to 30 km/hour.
On Sunday, the city recorded maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperature was 24 degrees Celsius. The day temperature remained one degree below normal, while night temperature stuck on normal.
Met officials said that the change in temperature is due to low pressure passing through western Madhya Pradesh.
“Change in weather is the result of pre monsoon activities. However, the temperature will be increased in next couple of days. Weather will turn cloudy in coming days and the city would witness thunderstorm and pre-monsoon rains from May 18 onwards,” weatherman added.
