Records highest temp in four years

Indore: On the fifth day of ‘Nautapa,’ which is regarded as the hottest period of the summer season, the city witnessed hottest day of the season on Thursday. The scorching day of the season has also broke the records of last four years with 43.2 degree Celsius. Thursday’s temperature was the third highest temperature in last 55 years. The temperature was hovering around 40 degrees Celsius before ‘Nautapa.’ On Thursday, the mercury touched 43.2 degrees Celsius mark which was four degrees Celsius above normal.

According to the Met department officials, the mercury will rise further in next couple of days and could break the record of 44.4 degree Celsius which was recorded in the city in 1958. Citizens didn’t get any relief from the night temperature also as it remained two degrees above normal with 26.1 degrees Celsius.

Due to the sizzling heat, the denizens preferred to stay indoors on Thursday and the roads bore a deserted look in the day time on Thursday.
