Indore : Special Sindhi citizenship camps would be organised by the Union Home Ministry in the city every month. A consensus was emerged during a meeting held between the Sindhi leaders and Collector P Narahari here on Wednesday.
Later, Chandu Makhija, a senior leader of the Sindhis’ said the Union Home Ministry has given consent to organize citizenship camp in the city every month. In this connection, a camp would be organised by the end of this month.
The Collector also instructed ADM Deepak Singh to coordinate in this regard. Makhija said that the Union Government has decided to grant citizenship to all the Sindhis’ who arrived in the city before 2009. Sindhi’s migrating from Pakistan had been demanding citizenship since last several decades. Before last assembly elections, BJP leaders had taken up their cause and promised them positive action in this regard. A similar camp was held by the district administration recently, which had received good response.
