Christian College students protest against exam denial

Indore: Fearing bleak future after DAVV denied holding exams of the students not approved by the Department of Higher Education, several students of Christian College on Monday staged a demonstration at RNT Marg campus of the university to press for their demand revoking the decision.

Students led by former DAVV student union president Varsha Sharma thronged the university and cried foul over its decision. They informed the university that their college was given minority status after the DHE was done with its centralised online counseling therefore open admission were being done by the college.

They said that they should be considered for exam. The students were told that the university has strict instructions to only hold exam for those students who were approved by the DHE. Varsha told the university officers that the college had filed a petition against the DHE in the court and the decision will come soon. The university agreed to hold exams for the students if the court ruled in their favour.

About 500 students were admitted by the college this year. If the court did not rule in their favour, they would have to appear in exam as non- colligate ( private) students.Christian College students shouting slogans against the university administration on RNT Marg campus.
