Indore: A joint- team of the District Administration and Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) Department raided a chocolate factory in Pologround area, on Monday and collected samples of chocolates and other edibles from the factory.

The team also raided a Domino Pizza outlet and Jain Mithai Bhandar in Saket. As per information, the team led by SDMs Nagendra and Jaiswal raided the chocolate manufacturing unit of Varun Enterprises and collected samples of Imli Chatni and Fruitbar.

The team also found the processing place ‘ unhygienic’ and also found some child labourers working there.A chaos like situation prevailed for sometime when the factory officials stopped media persons from entering the factory.

However, the situation returned to normalcy following intervention of senior officials and the police.The team also collected samples of Besan Ladoo and tomato sauce from Jain Mithai Bhandar and samples of pizza and soup from Domino’s outlet.

The samples have been sent to the laboratory and further actions would be taken after the Lab reports.Samples sent for lab testing Last date for licence and registration February 4 is the last date for shop- owners and manufacturers to get licence and registration under the new norms of the Food Safety and Security of India Act 2011.

According to FDA officials, enough time has been given to people to get their licences done, and February 4 is the last date. They further said that action would be taken from Feb 6 against those shop- owners who failed to submit licences.
