Indore: The MiC meeting held, on Saturday was scene of utter chaos, as one of the MiC members alleged that development works are being affected due to stepmotherly treatment of the corporation officers. The MiC meeting was held on Saturday under the chair of Mayor KM Moghe.

During the meeting, Suresh Kurwade, a member of MiC alleged that development works in his ward were hindered by Executive Engineer PC Jain for some reason or the other.

Kurwade further alleged that Jain worked for IMC Speaker Rajendra Rathore while holding up development works in his ward.

He further alleged that Chief Engineer Ashok Rathore also blocked development works in his ward, particularly when rates of works are similar to other wards and were approved. Shouting in anger, Kurwade demanded that under these circumstances existence of tendering committee is useless and therefore should be scrapped. He said that Rathore was delaying files of his ward unduly, blaming it on the accounts department.

When the din got out of hand, Mayor Moghe stepped in. He first reprimanded Jain about his style of functioning particularly in respect of projects proposed by Kurwade in his ward. Moghe also reprimanded Rathore for his inaction when proposals carried approved rates.

The mayor somehow managed to calm Kurwade and assured him that projects in his ward would be taken on priority basis.
