Chaos mark IMC budget discussions

Indore : Launching an attack on the IMC budget proposals, Congress Corporator Ravi Verma said that the 4G connectivity would affect the health of the citizens where the towers were installed.

He made this comment following Mayor  KM Moghe’s announcement in the IMC budget about 4-G connectivity, at Gandhi Hall, on Wednesday.

Apart from this, the session was full of controversial statements, direct allegations and out in open power packed statements. Though it wasn’t a rare sight when both the parties fought each other, but the direct allegations and controversial statements made by leaders of the party gave the event the stardom it deserved.

The corprators came face-to-face on issues including dog menace in the city, problems in city drainage system and various others public-related issues during the meet.

Ravi Verma said that the Mayor announced to connect the city with 4-G connectivity which is causing harm to residents of many localities, as per the doctor’s report, he said. He added that the Mayor in his statements said that youngsters of the city would be given employment opportunities, but in reality he himself (Mayor) never met the Muster Employees of the Corporation. He further said that the Mayor FOR the past five years is emphasizing on construction of Dhar Road but even after five years, Dhar road remains same.

INDORE WOULD BE SPORTS HUB

BJP Leader Ajay Singh Naruka, in-charge of Law and General Administrations said that the council has brought forward a proposal for Sports Cell. He said that with this cell the city would be marked amongst the top sports hub of the state and nation. Replying to a question on development of swimming pool of international standards, Naruka said that work on the pool would be done soon.

He added that each wards would have at least five playgrounds on which the opposition raised several questions. He said that it would be shameful if the growing generation ever asks us for a place to play, “We must provide sports amenities to coming generation”, he stressed.

WHAT MAYOR WANTS

Abhay Verma added that in the budget, proposal for monorail was given on page 89 while the Mayor in his speech mentioned Metro trains. He said that the Mayor should think twice on what he really wants to give the city, Monorail or Metro trains.

NATIONAL ANTHEM INSULTED

While the meeting was proceeding towards the end, the leaders of both the parties reached near the Speaker’s seat and a chaos like situation prevailed for sometime. Suddenly, some unidentified voices started reciting the National Anthem and than stopped in middle. National Anthem was once again started within fractions of minutes.

LAST WORD

The IMC budget for the financial year 2014-15 was passed with the consent of both the parties.
