Indore : The month-long National Census Register updating would start from November 16 in the district and it will continue till December 15. As per the instruction of the Government of India under the updating the in the NPR database of every citizen, certain new information would be added including Aadhar no/Ration Card no. and ID of the family. The work would be carried out by the government employees and enumerators by visiting house to house. The enumerators will include new members of the family through filling up a form. The district administration has requested the citizens to help the enumerators by providing them the required information like Aadhar no and Rashion card no.

Sources said that though the regular census is being already conducted from 2010 to 2011, but in the meantime the Directorate of Census conducts updating census register database time to time. The aim behind conducting such practices to have real check of the ground like how many new members have joined a family and how many have passes away. This is also a fact that such kind of drive does not make a major difference in the census figures.

But such data helps government in preparation of policies with the real time data.
