Indore : People involved in the profession of Chartered Accountancy play an important role in the economic development of the country. They are viewed as corporate conscience keepers of the economy.
Indore branch of the ICAI organized a knowledge enriched seminar on “Carrier Opportunities in Chartered Accountancy profession” hosted by Maheshwari College, Chhatribag Indore.
Prime speaker of seminar CA Abhay Sharma, secretary of Indore Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI) said that CAs are being viewed as corporate conscience keepers of the economy. They play a strategic role in the economic development of the country. He informed that the ICAI is being established by an act of Parliament in the year 1949. The journey of Institute started with around 1600 members and now it has reached to around 2.5 Lakh members. This makes the ICAI second largest accounting body of the world after US CPA being rank at first position with around 6.6 Lakh members. Therefore the growth percentage of CAs is increasing very rapidly.
CA Sharma further said the most attractive part of this prestigious course is that it is most economical professional course with cost of Rs. 50,000 against which a stipend of Rs. 81,000 is received during the training pursued in the course. The Articleship training is unique as it combines theoretical study with practical professionalism. The students easily learn the functions of a qualified CA during the Articleship training.
Sharma said during the Articleship part of the Course the student is exposed to deal directly with clients, Assessing Officers, Bankers, etc. which increases the confidence level of student and trains the student to encounter the professional world. There is no second opinion about the success and reliability of a Chartered Accountant. Further the standards have been maintained due to no reservation policy in the course which ensures equal opportunities for every student.
Seminar was moderated by Professor Dr. Anjana Gorani and more than 400 students attended the same. Earlier, Rajeev Jhalani, Principal of Maheshwari College while giving welcome speech said that there is huge opportunities in the CA profession and this seminar will surely help the students to select the suitable carrier.
